ACHIEVEMENTS OF DOUGLAS KETON SHUMPA THE INCOMING MP FOR KAJIADO EAST CONSTITUENCY 2022🇰🇪 #AMANI NA MAENDELEO SAFARI YA MATUMAINI
Douglas Keton Shumpa is a born resident of Kajiado county.
He was born in Kisaju village of Kaputiei North ward in Kajiado East constituency.
He is a son of the late (Mzee) Keton Ole Ntiankiki.
He started his education journey in Enkasiti primary school and sat his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) in Korrompoi primary school in 1993 where he emerged top in class.
He joined Olkejuado High School where he sat his "O" level exams in 1997 and joined Catholic University of East Africa (CUEA).
He graduated with a degree in Bsc Mathematics having majored in Statistics.
He later joined Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture Technology where he graduated with a Masters (MBA) in Strategic Management.
He started his working career in 2004 at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) where he did odd jobs like arranging backs and directing clients until late 2005 where he was employed as a customer service agent.He worked in that position until 2007 where after a tough interview he was appointed as a Revenue Assurance Analyst.
In 2009 his bosses noticed his zeal and zest for and Mr.Keton was promoted to be Demand Analyst for whole of Central African and Middle East regions.
He performed his roles with diligence until 2014.
In the seven years at the Revenue Management Department of one of the busiest and trusted Airline in Africa, Keton received very extensive training and experience on matters revenue optimization and commercial management. He toured the globe adding to his experience and exposure.
Following the implementation of the newly promulgated Kenyan Constitution Douglas Keton thought it wise to try and use his knowledge to help his home County-Kajiado.
The devolved units (counties)were just beginning to function in Keton applied for job in the Finance department.
He was successfully appointed as an Economic and Planning Director.
Amongst his first duties at the County treasury department was the formulation of the first ever County Integrated Development Plan(CIDP) and other County Government Plans.
Keton was also tasked with the formulation of County budgets for two years.
In 2016 he was appointed to the expenditure section of Finance and planning department where he became head of Integrated Financial Management Information Systems (IFMIS).
While in this section he implemented the internet banking in the county among other great initiatives.
In 2018 Douglas Keton successfully implemented the County budget and headed the Accounts section.
Later in 2018 he was moved to the Trade department as Director a portfolio he holds to date.
Keton has successfully allocated matatu Saccos their slots in Kitengela as well peacefully relocating market traders to the temporary site to pave way for the construction of a new modern market in Kitengela.He has done the same for Ngong and Kiserian markets.
Douglas Keton is currently inspired to aspire for Member of Parliament (MP) for Kajiado East.
